Finding space to be unapologetic.
On Tuesday, June 2, 2020 I read a journal entry titled “Retirement” to my work teammates.
It was a great release. It was an intimate moment. It was life changing.
From that experience I received requests to have a copy of my written word. I felt honored. I felt exposed. I felt strange about it. I felt a sense of ownership of it. I felt compelled to share…but it had to be in my own way, on my own time.
I had opened my soul to our team of 50+ individuals and this was a turning point in my journey from a timid black girl to a fierce black woman.
From that experience, journalsNOIRE was born…and I transitioned from sharing journal entries with my closed Facebook audience to this open audience.
journalsNOIRE is a space for thoughts to flow unapologetically
…thoughts on life, health, culture and all from the minds of black people.
If you would like to share a journal entry to be posted on journalsNOIRE, let me know!
